Unpaid Trial Work Periods (Prohibition) Bill

"Not any more, I am afraid. I thank the hon. Gentleman for giving way. He is making some really important points. I am glad he recognises that the hospitality and leisure industry, which employs about 3 million people in the UK, has good and bad practices, but they are generally …..."

Written Question
Small Businesses
Tuesday 27th June 2017

Asked by: Nigel Huddleston (Conservative - Droitwich and Evesham)

Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what steps he is taking to support the growth of small businesses.

Answered by Margot James

I was delighted to visit Worcestershire earlier this year and look forward to visiting again soon.

This Government wants to help high-growth businesses scale-up, go global and invest in their future. The Scale-up Task Force which I co-chair focuses on that requirement.

This builds on the billions of financial support already provided by the British Business Bank to thousands of small businesses looking to start, scale up or stay ahead.
