@wbrianwhite No but do you think enough is being done to ensure that people are treated equally?
Quite right!! Thank you! https://t.co/lJkyxTSJwk
Great to meet the team at the National Autism Unit at Bethlem Hospital this morning. Staff all keeping their discipline on social distancing and mask wearing! Thanks for such a warm welcome. https://t.co/6mFXBAjTGl
@DianaHeyes @joann_kiernan I agree we should need to make the case for equal treatment but depressingly I’ve encountered countless examples of appalling, unequal treatment. We know it is endemic.
@PropertyJedi So sorry to hear of your experience. It is an extraordinary scandal - and no one in authority seems interested in exposing it. They question is: why?
@PondDip Norwich about a fortnight ago!
@guardcell Thank you!! That probably is the answer!
@CharmingAngelCo @CYPMentalHealth Thanks. I am conscious of the real problem you describe.
@loonybin1973 @commaficionado I totally agree that ‘awareness’ absolutely does not go far enough - but that does not negate the importance of raising understanding and awareness. Perhaps doing that might encourage an understanding of why we need to go much further.
This week is #AutismAwarenessWeek - it’s an opportunity to increase understanding and to make the case for equal treatment of autistic people.
