@sheldonvestey JR is exactly the right thing to do for any council who has the interests of their small businesses and lowest paid at heart. It was clearly a flawed consultation & a predetermined decision. Disappointing that Sutton have chosen not to join. That truly is how to ride 2 horses
@sheldonvestey Legal advice seems to be too grey an area to be a productive approach. Any change planned for next May would depend on what's happened in between obviously.
@sheldonvestey You can try to continue to try to make that narrative happen as long as you like but there's one guy who people have voted in to be in charge of keeping London moving. Time he does his job.
@sheldonvestey 1. That doesn't say extend it to the outskirts of London 2. It talks about increasing income through scope 3. Proposals, not an immediate imposition with a skewed, predetermined consultation.
@sheldonvestey ...We've had the LEZ in outer London for many years which better reflects the difference between inner and outer. Residents in inner London have many more choices. It's increasing choice for outer London that the Mayor should be investing in.
@sheldonvestey 1. Expanding ULEZ to the north and south circular was something Boris had originally proposed which Sadiq brought forward giving people less time to adjust. 2. No government told TfL to look at its revenue, not expand the zone in this way...
@LenoreSimson 1. I have a limited amount of characters 2. As an MP I represent all constituents 3. I often use green as its the accepted colour of the Commons 4. As a government minister I'm clearly a Conservative 5. Not sure I've ever actually deleted party. Doesn't fit your narrative though
The Lib Dems want you to think they're against ULEZ expansion to the Greater London boundary, but they're riding two horses. They voted for it in City Hall & voted for it with conditions in Sutton. They were even the first party to propose ULEZ expansion to the Mayor. https://t.co/g1FfRjrzwd
@A_Soft_Soul @GregHands They're largely existing services rebranded.
150,000 cars not ULEZ compliant, 28,000 of which are in Sutton, the borough with one of the lowest levels of investment in transport from TfL across London. Push the money into viable alternatives, not just punishing working people. The Mayor needs to stop this now. https://t.co/I9viji38oj
