Confidence in the Secretary of State for Transport
"I thank my hon. Friend for her intervention, and I could not agree more. Given the cost of tickets, people should not have to stand on a daily basis. Beyond Batley to Leeds, the timetable is erratic and in chaos, and it still has not settled down.
I spoke to …..."Tracy Brabin - View Speech

Rail Timetabling
"On Saturday, two of my constituents, both in their 70s, were unfortunate enough to find themselves on the 23:03 Northern service from Leeds to Brighouse—the culmination of what they called a tortuous journey due to timetable chaos. They described the crammed Northern train as “filthy, a cheap product that has …..."Tracy Brabin - View Speech

Electric Vehicles and Bicycles
"I am deeply excited about electric bikes. Being a cyclist from Muswell Hill, which has a perpendicular hill, I would benefit from an electric bike. In my constituency, there is very little uptake of cycling compared with in the wider Yorkshire and the Humber region. The electric bike will encourage …..."Tracy Brabin - View Speech

Question
to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether he has made an assessment of the potential merits of providing Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles manufacturers with a specific derogation period when the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure is introduced.
Answered by Jesse Norman
- Shadow Leader of the House of Commons
No assessment of a specific derogation for wheelchair accessible vehicle manufacturers has been made. The Department plans to make a strictly limited derogation available to all manufacturers for the transition to the new WLTP emission test procedure and will shortly be issuing a consultation covering this issue. In addition, the Department’s officials have met with representatives of the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Converters’ Association (WAVCA) to discuss derogations with the aim to ensure that the supply of these important vehicles continues.

Question
to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what childcare facilities his Department makes available for its staff; how much his Department spent (a) overall and (b) per child on those facilities in the last 12 months; and how many of his Department's staff use those facilities.
Answered by John Hayes
The Department provides a 50% subsidy for a holiday play-scheme for London-based staff. In the last twelve months this was used by six staff at a total cost of £245 (£17.50 per child per day).
The DVLA has an on-site nursery facility and offers a school holiday play-scheme for staff in Swansea. The combined facility caters for up to 120 children.
No money has been spent on the facility in the last 12 months as the DVLA provides the building to its service provider, which allows them to provide childcare at a reduced cost to staff. 149 staff are registered to use the nursery facility and on average about 38 staff make use of the play-scheme.

Transport in the North
"Does my hon. Friend agree that for people with no other option, the withdrawal of a bus service can be devastating? Despite that, 400 supported routes have been downgraded or cut, year on year, since 2010. As my hon. Friend the Member for Kingston upon Hull North (Diana Johnson) has …..."Tracy Brabin - View Speech
