Question
to the Northern Ireland Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what childcare facilities his Department makes available for its staff; how much his Department spent (a) overall and (b) per child on those facilities in the last 12 months; and how many of his Department's staff use those facilities.

My Department does not provide childcare facilities for staff. London based staff have access to a holiday playscheme run by HM Treasury and eligible staff can use the Parliament nursery at Westminster.
My department has not made any contribution to the holiday playscheme in the last 12 months.
In addition, staff are also entitled to avail of a salary sacrifice childcare voucher scheme administered by the Ministry of Justice, under whose terms and conditions the staff in my department are employed.

As of February 2017, the latest date for which data is available, there are 30 staff seconded to the department from the Northern Ireland Civil Service.
