Written Question
Schools: Buildings
Monday 26th June 2017

Asked by: Vince Cable (Liberal Democrat - Twickenham)

Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether she plans to review the relationship between the Education and Skills Funding Agency and local education authorities regarding the provision of sites for new schools; and if she will make a statement on the effectiveness of current arrangements for such provision.

Answered by Robert Goodwill

The Education and Skills Funding Agency works constructively with local authorities and often uses sites secured from them to build free schools. This has proved increasingly effective since the inception of the programme.
