Illegal dog fighting - raise the period of imprisonment.

Although illegal, dog fighting and baiting; using dogs and cats is still going on.The maximum sentence for offenders is six months in prison and/or an unlimited fine, but campaigners want it to be raised to up to 3 years.

 The Animal Welfare Act 2006 has introduced an important and new concept for pet owners and those responsible for domestic animals. Dog fighting is still going on and proactive action needs to be taken to prevent such crimes, not just reactive action often when animals have been so cruelly killed.
