Despite having risk assessments,some surgeons are reluctant to use smoke evacuation, which puts perioperative staff and patients at a risk of breathing in harmful diathermy tissue smoke.

Diathermy smoke called plaque, is also carcinogenic and mutagenic and even contains hydrogen cyanide.One gram of diathermy tissue is equal to smoking six (6) unfiltered cigarettes.

I want the government to make diathermy smoke evacuation a compulsory requirement rather than a recommendation.
