End harmful policies towards refugees and migrants in Libya

The Government supports harmful policies which aim to trap desperate refugees and migrants in Libya, such as the funding and training of the Libyan Coastguard, despite appalling conditions in detention centres and conflict in the country. It needs to support humanitarian evacuation and resettlement.

The Government now must support the urgent humanitarian evacuation out of Libya of people held in detention centres. It must take a public stand against policies which aim to trap people in Libya, back dedicated search and rescue for those trying to flee, and increase its commitment to resettle vulnerable refugees.
