Mostly the birds are not actually eaten, and often their corpses are buried in their hundreds in ditches, or put into "stink pits" which attract animals such as badgers, foxes, hares and rabbits which then get caught in snares, which can cause an agonising death. The planet can no longer support this rich man's indulgence.
