To consider removing Parental Rights for Absent Parents

I find it unfair on parents who have to seek permission from absent parents to make decisions for their child/children. This includes, going abroad. I do not find it fair that an absent parent is able to make these decisions whilst not being actively involved in their childs life

Why is it acceptable for an absent parent who may not want to be involved in said childs life, to have rights and a say in decisions regarding the child?

I call, for after a set amount of time (ie 5 years) providing the other parent has evidence of trying to involve the absent parent in their childs life to no avail or if the absent parent no longer wishes to exercise their rights, for them to be removed. Freeing the main carer to be able to make decisions as they wish with their child.
