Scrap IELTS requirement for overseas nurses to improve Coronavirus situation

During Coronavirus outbreak, NHS will need more nurses, there are thousands of overseas nurses in the UK not able to get the PIN number because IELTS requirement is very high. If government considers scrapping or lowering the IELTS requirement, these nurses can be a great help during this situation.

This petition was rejected on 6th Apr 2020 for not being a Government or Parliamentary matter

The Petition Committee commented:
The English language requirements for nurses are set by the independent regulator for nurses and midwives in the UK, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), not the Government or Parliament. You could start a petition calling on the Government to take action to increase the number of nurses available to support the UK's fight against coronavirus, including by encouraging the NMC to reduce language requirements for overseas nurses.
