I am aware that the Government have provided much needed financial support to Foster Carers during the crisis but have again left Special Guardians with no support. Special Guardians and their vulnerable children must be afforded the same rights at this time

Special Guardians are doing essentially the same job as foster carers and many of their children will have previously suffered abuse and / or have been through the care system.
Special Guardians and their children are vulnerable, many leaving jobs or retirement to care for children, some who may have severe difficulties
We essentially work from home but are unable to claim any of the support packages available. Many Special Guardians have a low income due to caring for the children
You must be equitable in your support to these families and all children who have been placed with them
