No further public sector pay freeze, no attack on the pension triple lock

It has been reported that the treasury is considering: public sector pay freezes, tax hikes and ending the pension triple lock to pay for the deficit following the covid 19 crisis. We ask that the government look to other sources of revenue such as tackling tax avoidance/evasion.

The public have borne the brunt of reducing the deficit with government austerity for long enough.

It is estimated that the deficit will reach £337 billion this year.

To further load the cost on to the public following this crisis would be an unfair burden following the preceding years of austerity.

Clapping won’t put food on the table of a nurse whose pay has been frozen and tax has increased.

There are other options for reducing the deficit, we ask that the govt look elsewhere.
