Create a Citizens' Assembly for the Future

We call on the Government to create a UK Citizens’ Assembly for the Future, selected at random from the adult population. This body would focus on medium to long-term issues like pandemic planning and the low carbon transition.

This proposal is a core demand of "Krisis: a Manifesto for the Future" which has been published in full at theunfinishedrevolution.net (with a shorter version in The Observer Letters 24/05/20) and signed by 45 prominent academics, lawyers, writers and activists.

Only Parliament could establish such a body.
