Prioritise Years 4 & 8 when re-opening of schools

Current Government guidance advises that, when safe to do so, schools should re-open with priority given to Reception, Year 1, and transitioning children in Year 6. This fails to recognise the transitioning children in Years 4 & 8 in the 3-tier school system.

The Government has recognised the importance of children in a transitioning year being prioritised ahead of other years to allow them to prepare, both academically & psychologically, for this very big next step in their schooling.

Other year groups will have at least one year remaining in their current school, providing time for their teachers to help them catch up on curriculum, transitioning year children won't. Hence the importance that ALL transitioning year groups are prioritised.
