People with diabetes or who are obese – or have conditions that can be exacerbated by obesity, such as cancer, heart disease – are clinically vulnerable to Covid-19. New safety requirements could also create financial difficulties for the fitness industry, so the Government should abolish VAT for this industry, to sustain the sector and with a view to reducing costs for the NHS, by making it cheaper for people to access services that help them maintain their health.
