Legal requirement that online retailers show the country of manufacture.

Force online retailers to show where their products are manufactured, i.e. UK, China, Taiwan, etc. and make it a legal requirement for them to show this information on the product descriptions so that the consumer is aware of the country of origin prior to adding it to their shopping basket.

As a British citizen, I want to buy British wherever possible and support our British businesses and economy. Most of the products I buy online are labelled "Made in China". This information should be made clear on websites PRIOR TO PURCHASE so the consumer can decide whether or not they wish to buy. I hope this would also encourage more manufacturing in the UK and put a stop people that advertise across social media networks who are blatantly lying by pretending to be based in the UK.
