This commission would ensure that sensible discussion could take place regarding the removal and replacement of memorials that are no longer considered appropriate.

Although a great many of the memorials honour philanthropy, these charitable acts do not absolve the individuals of their heinous links to the slave trade.

This would also serve as a national mandate, to ensure equal and fair discussions take place, and remove the burden from local authorities.
