Every politician has been quick to praise the NHS for its sterling work at a time of a crisis, yet weekly clapping and platitudes do not help doctors, nurses and all other staff to improve the work they do to support the nation. The IFS has argued that increases of 4% annually are needed to improve NHS services: https://www.ifs.org.uk/publications/12994

Therefore, the Government should commit to spending this amount to show real support to the NHS.
