Allow choral singing to resume as soon as indoor gatherings are permitted

As soon as measures to control the spread of coronavirus permit larger indoor gatherings, choral rehearsals and concerts must be permitted. Singing must also be allowed in churches once services are allowed to resume. Any ban on singing until there is a vaccine or treatment must be ruled out now.

Any concerns about singing being a high-risk activity for spreading coronavirus must be balanced with the huge benefits that singing has for community cohesion, mental health, long-term physical health, and national morale. Britain has a wonderful choral tradition and this must not be jeopardised.
