Temporarily add a black section to the blue NHS logo for 2021.

The NHS is a recognised and trusted UK brand. But disproportionally high numbers of healthcare workers from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds have died from Covid-19. Adding black to the blue NHS logo will provide a clear symbol of mourning for all healthcare heroes.

Black, Asian and other ethnic minority healthcare workers are vital to the NHS, even more so during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tragically, the numbers of BAME NHS staff killed by Covid-19 are proportionally much higher than mortality rates amongst their white colleagues.

Public Health England has also reported that non-white British NHS staff suffer discrimination at work.

Recognising that black healthcare lives matter with a refreshed NHS logo will show we care for them.
