Enable the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Scientific Adviser and information from WHO and NHS to directly affect restrictions upon the UK in times of Public Health crisis's. It'll enable them to dictate when to close places and reopen them; when to enforce a lock down and social distancing regulations

WHO declared Covid-19 a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020. 23rd March 2020 UK went into lockdown. Countries that went into lockdown earlier have recovered earlier, due to following scientific advise. When WHO calls a Public Health Emergency Scientific Advisers should have a greater say in the actions following that announcement. This is why Scientific Advisers should have more of a role in the actions the Government takes in regards to Public Health Emergencies.
