Type 2 diabetes is a serious chronic condition that can cause major health problems if not treated. Diabetic complications already cause a major strain on the resources of many NHS trusts. Therefore, we suggest that better prevention and monitoring for all Diabetic patients would be a cost-effective way of reducing those costs in the long term. If more patients have access to better blood glucose monitoring they may be more likely to change their lifestyle and require less medication.
