The Government should provide funding for the deployment of noise cameras across the country to detect and fine drivers of vehicles that exceed legal noise limits. In 2019 the Dept. for Transport stated they would trial this technology yet there’s been no update since.

The government needs to crack down on the nuisance drivers who blight our streets. This technology may lead the way in making our towns and cities quieter.
Research commissioned by the Department for Transport, found that a noise camera system could help tackle extremely noisy vehicles which breach legal noise limits.
Paris is successfully using this technology to reduce traffic noise.
