NHS services are meant to be available free of charge to people ordinarily resident in the UK, but there are cases where non-British UK residents are incorrectly being charged for accessing the NHS.

The Government should hold a public inquiry into cases of UK residents being incorrectly charged for NHS services, and investigate ways of preventing this from happening in the future.

People who are entitled to NHS treatment should not have to face receiving bills that they then need to challenge.
