Work with the NHS to fund and provide a unified and improved wheelchair service

I would like the Government to work with the NHS to create and improved and unified wheelchair services. Wait times should be shorter, the approach to supplying a wheelchair more holistic and it should be less of a postcode lottery. This would require WCS to be provided with better funding.

Wheelchair users are being failed. Without a suitable wheelchair your whole life is put on hold. Unsuitable wheelchairs not only cause physical damage to the user but also has a great impact on the users independence and mental health. Some people have even been advised to turn to charities or fundraising for a suitable chair. “The need for charity is the failing of the government.” Better access time wheelchair greatly improve a persons life and is financially beneficial to the economy and NHS.
