Stop water company monopoly - Extend competition to the residential water market

The Government should extend competition to the residential water market. The public should have a choice of water companies, like they do with other utilities. We should be able to vote with our feet when we are not satisfied with the service.

The monopoly that water companies have is unacceptable. We have no choice but to pay whatever they charge, for whatever service they provide. Introducing competition to the residential water market should incentivise improved performance by water companies, and give customers the option of changing suppliers if they are unsatisfied.
