For those unpaid carers who care for loved ones, and receive carers allowance, like those on other allowance based benefits unpaid carers are only allowed to earn £128 and work up to 16 hours a week, yet despite having the same restrictions placed on the amount they can earn and work, they are not in receipt of the same benefits when it comes to health care with dentists, opticians and prescriptions, carers allowance is no where near enough to cover the ever rising costs of day to day life.
