Restart the HMPO Fast Track process or expand the criteria for urgent cases

The Passport Office has suspended 1-week fast-track application process for passports due to the pandemic. A lot has changed since that decision: the inflection rate has gone down significantly; we've learned to socially distance and live with the virus.

The passport office provides an option for "urgent" applications but their criteria are too strict . Life has many urgent situations - families broken apart; parents separated from their children overseas; etc. The passport office doesn't consider these cases to be urgent and the application process takes up to 6 weeks.

Either expand the criteria for urgent applications or restart the fast track 1week process.
The current situation is inhumane.
