It is essential this is done to tackle the accelerating drugs crisis, not only in Scotland but around the UK. The government must recognise that the proposals made are evidence based, and was based on the advice of people with the lived experience of this crisis: victims, health care workers, criminal justice experts, charity workers and many more. It is unacceptable for the government to have rejected these proposals without sufficient justification.
