The UK needs to take responsibly for its textile waste. The UK generates huge amounts of second-hand clothing, much of which ends up being exported to countries where it can have adverse consequences.

A levy on textile garments could fund improve recycling in the UK, and also raise money to research and develop new environmentally sustainable fabrics and yarns.
