Extend the Furlough scheme to hospitality employees effected by local lockdowns

We are calling for the government to extend the furlough scheme to hospitality industries effected hugely by local lockdowns. These businesses rely on the public support - there is no work from home option. The hospitality industry covers 9% of the UK workforce.

Restaurants, pubs and cinemas/theatres have been hugely effected by the governments decision to apply curfews and local lockdowns. The hospitality industry covers 9% of the UK workforce; approximately 2.9 million people. Working from home simply isn’t an option and those staff have bills to pay and families to support. Hours are already cut to the bare minimum with the furlough support and people will not survive without this scheme.
