Medical experts are worried about the combined impact of both coronavirus and influenza this winter. Many workers who are not being asked to work from home and only have basic PPE, such as teachers, will be public-facing and could spread either one of these diseases.

There is a national programme of nasal vaccinations for primary school children which is being extended to year 7 pupils this year. This will help reduce the spread, but secondary school teachers will be exposed to up to 6 other year groups who could be spreading 'flu.
By giving all public-facing workers who cannot work from home the 'flu jab, we can reduce the strain on the NHS for this critical winter, and protect our family members from the risk of getting both diseases simultaneously.
