Require GPs and the NHS to act on mental health referrals by third parties

The Government should create a statutory duty for GPs and the NHS to act on concerns about mental health raised by family members, such as by inviting people for a mental health assessment. Some people may never have the courage to ask for help. Let's save lives and families.

GPs and the NHS should not be able to ignore the concerns of a family member or friends about a person's health issue. Just like safeguarding issues, ignoring warnings about a person's mental health can have disastrous consequences. Timely help can save all of the above. Let's not wait and watch while mental health corrodes society bit by bit.
