Make it illegal to refuse to employ or dismiss a person based on their tattoos

Employers are currently able to refuse to hire someone based on their tattoos, even if they are NOT offensive. We would like everybody with unoffensive tattoos, regardless of where they are on the body, to have the same legal employment rights as those without tattoos.

With the undoubted popularity of tattoos over recent years, it is amazing that people can still be refused employment based on their tattoos. The look of tattoos has improved immensely over the last decade and are now seen as more of an art form. Over this time, the demographic has changed to a more mainstream and affluent clientele with a wide range of careers. It is extremely unfair to affect the employment opportunities of an ever-increasing percentage of tattooed adults in the UK.
