The Government should make it a legal requirement for social media companies to verify the age of users and make it clear which accounts are those of children.

There are too many cases of children being sexually or emotionally abused by adults who then claim to be unaware of their age. Making it clear when social media users are children would prevent abusers from claiming they did not know the age of their victims.
