Fund additional scans for pregnant women on the NHS

Scans are normally at 8-14 weeks and 18-21 weeks gestation. I want women to have the chance of more scans through the NHS during pregnancy. There is always the option to have a private scan but not all families have the luxury of affording this.

I lost my son in June 2020, he was born sleeping at almost 30 weeks. I had the normal scans and was told everything was perfect. Sometime after the 20 week scan his heart and lungs stopped growing. If a scan was performed maybe things could be different. He could not have survived if delivered earlier but at least I could have prepared myself for the worst. When you’re told your baby is perfectly healthy to then be told he’s passed away has a big effect on that family’s mental health.
