Create a “PHS (Pet Health Service)” Scheme paid for by pet owners

The Government should create a Pet Health Service, funded by small monthly payments from pet owners, who should be encouraged to register, to provide free/low price emergency care to registered members. Monthly payments could vary depending on the type of pet owned.

NHS ensures nobody in our country gets left to suffer. What about pets? They are often regarded as family too. Someone can provide the most loving care for their pet/be an amazing owner but an accident/injury that costs lots upfront can be inaccessible. Some owners of animals with conditions sadly abandon them due to fees. Creating a national Pet Health Service should reduce abandoned/surrendered animals massively. Private vets should have an option to participate but PHS clinics should also be created by the Government.
