Establish a new tribunal to consider all complaints about all public services

The Government should create a new tribunal body to consider all complaints/grievances/appeals about the provision of public services, to replace existing ombudsmen that do not have adequate powers to ensure public concerns are investigated and addressed.

The tribunal should be given unlimited powers to obtain records from public bodies and organisations, and to compel witnesses to appear. We believe this will better enable public service providers to be held to account, and for people who are adversely affected by failures to deliver public services to seek redress.
