Give breastfeeding mothers to a right to defer/be excused from jury duty

Studies show that new babies need to be close to their mothers. Especially during those early months/years. They rely on their mothers to provide safety, care and nutrition. Breastfeeding mothers should not be expected to stop or leave their babies for jury duty.

While breastfeeding mothers can apply to be excused from jury duty, it is up to the courts whether to excuse them, and these requests are sometimes denied. This is not good enough. Breastfeeding mothers should have a legal right to defer or be excused from jury duty, so they can choose for themselves.
