Increase Land Access Rights in England to equal The Land Reform (Scotland) Act

The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 places the responsibility of land and inland water access onto the individual accessing the land and protects the landowner from litigation. We feel these rights can be extended across England and the UK using the legal framework first implemented in Scotland.

Land access use has changed dramatically over the past twelve months, with more individuals accessing land and waterways for the mental and physical health benefits they bring. However, access is often limited by the landowner, restricting land users to activities the landowner feels is best. This has led to numerous small trespass events where the land user has taken access into their hands, It should always be the responsibility of the user to act appropriately on the land when access is given
