8th of March “International Women’s Day” to become a bank holiday

International Women’s Day celebrated in many countries and in some of them 8th of March is an annual holiday for celebration. I would like for women in the UK to also have this opportunity and recognition. The 8th of March should become a bank holiday.

Women’s day should be recognised in the UK. It gives women the feeling of being recognised as mothers, grandmothers, partners, sisters, daughters etc. It shows appreciation for everything women do, whether that’s being a housewife or in business. This gives woman a sense of equality and empowerment. A great opportunity to use this day for different campaigns against domestic abuse and mental health issue where women still suffer.
