Provide dedicated funding for Mental Health day centres

The Government should give local authorities dedicated funding for mental health day care centres. Too many local authorities are under financial pressure and are closing these centres. These centres are safe havens and places for some of our most vulnerable people to be, make friends and stay well.

The Government should provide dedicated funding to ensure local authorities take care of their most vulnerable, especially at a time when the mental and social wellbeing of many people, not least those already suffering with life-limiting and incredibly difficult mental illness on a daily basis. These places are sanctuaries for people, they are places where they are accepted, safe and their wellbeing is seen too. Where will they go? What will they do? How will they have an opportunity to access the same level of services/care?
