There has been a serious historical issues with illegal immigration into the overseas British territory of Turks and Caicos, via use of sloops. This is both a threat to local livelihoods and source of increased crime levels, smuggling, and human trafficking. The proposed actions should help foster a more positive local outlook of the British relationship with the islands.
