To provide a statutory means of removing a peerage from a peer

All honours of the Crown can be forfeited if the person is convicted of a crime or is deemed to have not satisfied criteria of good character. Writs to remove peerages should now be statute based as to remove the unfair apperance of bias and should be on a ethical par to all other gifts

Every year there are stories of peers committing errors that if a Mr X CBE or KBE had of done it then the latter would be stripped of that honour but yet Lord/Lady Bloggs gets to keep the title, ergo the crown condones it. This is a bad image for the UK, rightly or wrongly, this is soft power and for the peer to keep the peerage in dishonour shames us to the world. A peerage must now be conditional on good behavior.
