Poorly lit streets can be hot spots for assault. Installing more lighting is the bare minimum we can do, to help protect women who have no choice but to go out at night, whether it’s walking home from work, a friend’s house or simply going to the shop. This is an issue across the country, there’s an alleyway in Leeds where multiple incidents of sexual violence have been reported.
