Protect the Six Nations so it must be available live on free-to-air TV

We fear that the live tv rights to the six nations championship will end up behind a pay wall. By classing it as a Group A event under the Broadcasting Act 1996, this would prevent this and keep it free to all.

The six nations championship is the jewel in the Crown of the rugby calendar and should be kept free to watch by everyone live on TV. Currently it is only protected under Group B meaning that only delayed coverage of games is protected by law. By placing it in group A under the the Broadcasting Act 1996 it would prevent in law the organisers from placing the games behind a pay wall in a subscription TV service. 100,000s of people could be prevented from enjoying live coverage.
