Provide a Covid-19 recovery package for prisoners and their families

We are aware that there is a crisis within the prison system due to Covid 19 restrictions. The lack of visits, lock ups, restrictions to support, exercise and education have had and continue to have a detrimental effect on prisoners and their families.

The Government should set up a support package to support prisons to restart visitation as soon as possible, and fund increased prisoner services to help catch-up on lost services, and mitigate any adverse impacts of the last year.

Many families have been unable to see inmates for over a year. Action is needed.
