Remove police powers on removing encampments from the Police and Crime Bill

We ask the Government to revoke Clauses 61-64 in Part 4 of The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. We believe it unfairly targets the property and rights of nomadic people, whom the government has failed to provide proper sites for.

The government is seeking to make it easier for police to confiscate homes of nomadic people, and unfairly fine or imprison them for parking on public or private land. (This is all without any attempt by the government to provide new sites for approved parking.) With growing homelessness and rent arrears potentially forcing more people to live in their vehicles, this will add further burden to those already failed by this government.
